Very cool video interview with Henri Cartier-Bresson

One thing led to another today and I ran across this little gem and thought this group might like it:

Henri Cartier-Bresson Part2

Also includes informative bio.

it has much of everything in it I like. The feelings and musings of phenomenal b/w photography, my favorite language, references to one of my favorite sculptors (Giacometti), and an Aran sweater to die for. Now I have to freeze frame this thing to copy the sweater. That I know how to do. The photographs, not so much.

Glad that it hit so many notes for ya! Yes, I noticed the sweater too - are you able to knit one like that?

to get a clear still of the sweater, I can come pretty close. I've knit since I was 4.

that's impressive! I tried to freeze frame and then save it as a pic - didn't work. There might be a way to pause the video and then hit "print screen" if your keyboard has that option. Mine has that option but either it doesn't work...or I'm not sure how to use it.

to little German girls after the war. They were taught to knit, among other things. Like darn socks to look like new, and make soup with stones.
Oh well.
I've made many Aran sweaters, but that particular one looks amazingly custom and especially gorgeous. Just like the man himself.

Bought the catalog and never tire of looking at it.

Cartier-Bresson's work has inspired a lot of my street photography.

in Atlanta and thoroughly enjoyed it, having been a fan for a long time! Maybe you could post a few of your photographs?

(I used to dabble in photography years ago using a Leica SLR and B&W Kodak Technical Pan film shot at ASA 25 developed in Technidol, which was somewhat comparable to a medium format using a 35mm - not exactly the same...but not too bad either ~)

I've got a Sigma 2.8/105mm macro/telephoto and a Sigma 1.4/30mm. I shoot at 100 - 200 ISO.

I keep hearing Robert Capa in my head - If the pictures not good enough, you're not close enough.
