and I have some interesting shots, but this is critical garden planting time and we're expecting rain over the weekend, so first things first.
It was truly like another world out there.

(46,436 posts)just a few more to go.
I have sugar snap and snow peas, purple string beans (the seeds are soaking in mycorrhizal fungae water; I'll plant tomorrow), three or four kinds of lettuce, oriental mustard, two kinds of kale, Swiss chard, red and green cabbage, a couple different varieties of broccoli, two varieties of zucchini, yellow summer squash, radishes and carrots (I got the seed tapes this year; I hate thinning). I have some herbs I need to plant yet, and when it gets a little warmer I'll put cucumbers and tomatoes in the greenhouse. NCRaleighLiberal sent me a bunch of heirloom tomato seeds during the winter so I have about 17 tomato plants about 6-8 inches tall that I started under the lights in my crawl space where I do my other secret garden. . They're specifically for the north, so I'm going to plant some of them in containers in the open air, and we'll hope it's warm enough for them to produce. Of course the strawberries and rhubarb come back every year, already have lots of blooms and thick rhubarb stalks.
We've always had an issue with the neighbors' raspberries spreading under our fence, so this year I decided instead of discarding them I would move them into their own spot, so we should get some raspberries, too. They're already budding.
We're off now to buy some annuals. Later...

(46,436 posts)The wild ones are pretty small, but they taste delicious. I'm not sure if these invading my garden are wild or domestic, but if they bear fruit I can figure it out. It was kind of like "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." They are soooo invasive.

I'm making myself hungry, so I'll stop.
