I've had the hots for the Ricoh GR for a long time ago. It's basic, straight-forward, elegant. It's monochrome settings and menu
seem to be highly regarded.

(18,219 posts)Even with my camera, a Kodak point and shoot, I have the ability to telephoto the lens a little. The fixed lens/focal length cameras made it too hard for amateurs like me to get a shot worth looking at. Only good for snapshots if you ask me.

(60,075 posts)I've attached it to the Sigma 30mm 2.8 and will probably use that for my first outing.

(43,049 posts)I've been tempted to get a decent macro lens, but I keep forgetting about closeup lenses.
B&H has a set of 1.5 and 2.5 plus the holder for around a hundred bucks. They also have a huge selection of Tiffen, Hoya, camera maker, and even their own brand.
Odd that few, if any, are in the old series style. All are screw-in, so you end up with step up and down rings if you use different lenses. And lots have ratings, but don't always bother to tell you if they are one or multi-element.
Good luck with the bugs, but don't forget how neat snowflakes can be.

(60,075 posts)You can always add more salt, but too much is harder to fix, so the 150 is just fine.
BTW, mine was $49 from Amazon.
