Shot with a manual lens. Not my first choice for actions shots, but I zone focused and it worked out just fine.

(19,459 posts)Not sure how to describe what I really like about these. They look like film. Beautiful (tones?).

(19,459 posts)But they are very sweet photos. Really nice composition, too. I especially like the composition of the first one.

(60,074 posts)I like getting out with my camera and taking photos. If I get a couple passable images, that's a bonus.

(19,459 posts)I feel like I've been kind of spamming the board for the last few weeks. We've been on the road a lot, so I've taken a lot more photos than usual. I'm driving up to Medford, Oregon tomorrow (about 10 hours round trip) and I'll take a break for some shots in the Siskiyou's as I go up and back.
Then I leave Saturday to head back down to San Diego for 10 more days with my kids at Thanksgiving. I'll probably do some potting around out in the desert while I'm there.
Probably slow down substantially after that.
My challenge is to try to remember what DS1 (remember that guy?) once said: we can take photos of interesting things, or we can take interesting photos of things. The latter is always a challenge for me.

(60,074 posts)The hardest lesson to learn is how to use the trash can. The other lesson is when editing, if you can't get it right, there's no getting it right. Apply what you learned about using the trash.

(19,459 posts)...in that I tend to do too much of it, and what it do is often too heavy handed. It's about having better images in the camera, I suppose.
I'm having fun with it, and trying to improve. I always appreciate helpful criticism from people as I recognize the spirit in which it is offered.

(60,074 posts)It's the bottom of the line of Olympus M4/3. The Raw images need little work too.
Back when I had my old Canon G10, images still needed some work to get some that pleased my eye. It was a good camera, but now the sensor is very dirty.
