Hi Du Photogs,
I propose a contest that accepts submissions starting Nov 14 and begins balloting Nov 21 with the goal of announcing a winner on Nov 30. I'd move the date up if I could but I am having PC issues and might not be ready to fulfill the responsibilities of contest host before then.
As a theme, with a nod to the number of the month, anything that can be tied to the number 11....................
Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article is about the chemical element. For the commonly called "sodium" nutrient, see salt. For the PlayStation Home game, see Sodium (PlayStation Home). For the racehorse, see Sodium (horse).
"Natrium" redirects here. For the town in West Virginia, see Natrium, West Virginia.
This is number 11 on the periodic table...........

(90,769 posts)A carton of eggs with one missing, or with one strategically cracked just so - in the right lighting and the right angle, could be a wonderful shot.
Two trees, straight and tall, standing together, away from other trees. Sentinels, so to speak - could represent the number 11.
11 objects is a very good idea for the subject - especially when creatively photographed. Maybe bright colors, like umbrellas hanging from the ceiling. Balloons. Cars. Flowers. Bowls. Plates. Anything, really. Done well - could very well be a winner.
11 tables with chairs, a cafe scene (especially outdoors), shot in black and white for dramatic effect.
12 candles, light 11 of them - take the shot.
An old or unusual clock set to 11. Have to get the right angle and lighting.
Dart board with dart (s) stuck in the 11 spot.
11 pipers piping (just saying) - 11 flutes (pipes) lined up or something along those lines. It's not hard to find novelty wooden flutes, especially reed flutes.
The 11th sign of the zodiac is Aquarius - so things to do with carrying water.
For November birthdays, Scorpio and Sagittarius.
One doesn't have to follow such things to know about them...or to photograph them.
Anyone dry clothes on a line? 11 tee shirts blowing in the wind. Brightly colored shirts, all flapping in the wind on a sunny fall day.
Lacing shoes? Especially on Converse/not high tops - 12 holes .. skip a hole. Yes, I wear Converse (and Vans).
If a road sign near you says exit 11, 11th street. How cool would that be?
A photo of the street sign for 11th street.
A birthday cake with 11 candles.
I don't know. lol
I'll see what I can think of...or look to my archives for something that will do.

(90,769 posts)November 11 is Veterans/Armistice day.
So, Veterans Day celebrations could be an entry - happens in the 11th month, and on the 11th day.

(60,074 posts)My dad and his brothers and friends would go from door to door yelling "fasnacht kuechle." The lady of the house would then stab them and drink their blood. Not really.
The fasnacht kuechle was a pre lent donut, that was eaten on Fasnacht day, but in my dad's German neighborhood it was the term they used instead of trick or treat. The traditions vary through the German speaking world. Most likely they said that because many of the adults didn't speak English. My dad spoke German until a teacher, unbeknownst to him could speak German and knew what he was calling her. She beat the German out of him.

(31,391 posts)I thought I was going to be so clever: there is a statue of #11 (POTUS) on the campus of UNC because
he was from NC. Went inside the building--and he was gone! In storage. Hmph. They hadn't taken the info
about him away, yet (he's not exactly pc anymore, and I wonder if he's gone to storage as a reason to get him out
before someone tries to vandalize the statue). Light was really bouncing off the frame, so I only got the first part.

Anyway, I had a couple of other ideas--even though I was busted on the Polk idea--and I did get a shot for my entry.
