Wow! The third and last are my favorites. alfredo Oct 2015 #11

I like the sun dog in the second one. Blue skies are boring, and sensors don't like them. alfredo Oct 2015 #13

You know, I'm really a fan of color photos, but I have to say, these are amazing.

The textures are incredibly interesting. The shades of black and white and everything in between.

Thank you for helping open my eyes!

I love the desert. There is so much more life out there than b&w shows (usually).

I really like the 4th and 5th ones.

When I was in high school--in La Jolla--my boyfriend's parents used to go to Borrego Springs
and we went with them one time. That was years and years ago...some deja vu with these desert shots!

We're in La Jolla, my daughter and son-in-law live up off of Via Capri.

The Oasis shot was taken out at Borrego Springs.

My my - it's been 25 yrs since I last went to Anza-Borrego SP. Nice to see it's desert beauty hasn't changed all that much.

Good pix!

that first one's a stunner, and I love the cloud action in the others. Black and white really pops these. Good job!

I've been messing with the 11-16mm lens, and I was having trouble getting anything remotely interesting in terms of landscapes. Too much empty frame.

Then I read something in one of Bryan Peterson's books on Exposure about the need to "get closer" and "fill the frame" when working with wide angle in order to avoid boring, empty shots. I may not have avoided boring, but it was a big step up from what I had been getting.

They added a lot to the photos. Ones I took a bit further south yesterday weren't as nice; the sky was very clear, with no detail discernable even with an ND filter.

I didn't correct any of the distortion in the palm tree shot because I liked the effect.

Two more:
