Something strange is going on with my computer

It used to be that I'd stick my card in the card reader, and it would say something like "what program do you want to open this in" and then I'd click on the one that I wanted, which I forget what it was because it was so automatic, and then it would say, "do you want to name this," and I'd say "coastal trail" or "garden" or whatever, and then the pictures would download by date into "My Pictures."

Suddenly it's not doing that anymore. When I put the card in, it just says DCIM or whatever, and then I have to download the pictures off the card and sort them out later.

What happened? This annoys me, and I'm not computer literate enough to know how to fix it.

ed. I'm running Windows 7. Does this have anything to do with the Windows 10 stuff? I just got that little Get Windows 10 icon about the same time that this happened.

That's what I do when my SD card starts acting up. If that doesn't.t work try a different card. Beyond that, I have nothing.

You can do the reformat in the camera.

You might have to update it, or reinstall it. Also look in the preferences for the software to see if something has defaulted to original settings. Don't know where this would be on a PC. Post this in the PC group.

And, if you don't already do this, reformat your card every time after you download photos to your computer. Or is that upload?

open your start menu and click on control panel. there should be an option for autoplay and click on that. it should open a box that looks like this and you can change the action you want the computer to take when opening various media.
