I always wanted to visit Giverny. It was certainly a high point on our trip to France.

(130,913 posts)I DO have one I caught, QUICKLY, of red poppies driving along the road somewhere in France, NOT Giverny, never got there. Then bought a post card of a similar view. Those views continue to inspire our culture.

(36,827 posts)I'm not a huge Monet fan, but I know enough of his paintings to recognize them on the property. They have done an excellent job of preserving the place.

(31,389 posts)We were at Giverny years ago--before our fire--when the tulips were in bloom. It was just gorgeous.
Of course all my photos were destroyed, except for one where I handed the camera to somebody
and when we got home I must have sent copies to some friends and family, because one copy of
that photo came back to me after the fire when I sent out an appeal to friends and family to see
what anyone might have kept.
