There were a ton of different flowers. I'm posting too many pictures as it is, and these aren't even a tenth of the variety that was there.
The colors appear vivid in some of these, but I think that's my camera having problems. The roses were actually that saturated, but my phone washes out the detail:
Some had very delicate detailing:
I liked the colors I got on these:
These had cool insides:
These were huge roses. The ones below were about 7-8 inches in diameter.
An overview of a small part of the garden:
I'm not really a fan of the camera on the Samsung Galaxy S5. It's sharp at times, but only if it's held absolutely still. It gets blurry and grainy quickly. However, at times it works pretty well. I think the last picture is the best shot I've gotten on the phone.

(60,015 posts)Went Portland to Mt St Helens to Astoria, took our time down the coast to Yachats, cut across to Mt Hood area, Trout Lake WA, then back to Portland - took over a week, could have done it for a lifetime!

(22,380 posts)Fabulous experience and very special captures. I like that there is no excess sunlight to blow out the photos. Your last one, you are right, is phenomenally lovely, not just the blossoms, also the greenery. Some of your single roses are also breathtaking, i.e. 9/10/11 counting upward from bottom.
I'm very happy you showed these.
It makes me reminisce of an afternoon I got to spend on the island of Mainau in the Lake of Constance in Switzerland. Your third photo, counting up, is exactly what I saw there in the walkways and the abundance. Except they were all Dahlias. And you got to vote for your favorites, and might have won 50 000,-- Euros. I put in my mother's name as the recipient should I win.
She died. Probably because she did not win.
Thanks for these.

(46,436 posts)I love the red ones with the yellow inside, the seventh one down.
Roses don't grow here so well except for the wild varieties.
My husband just came back from Oregon tonight. He was in Eugene for a few days for the Prefontaine track meet, something that had been on his bucket list for some time.

PNW lends itself very well to rose growing.
