Related: About this forumA little tour of Napa (lottsa pics)
Napa is not my usual stomping ground so I went down today when I could be assured of few people and minimal traffic. I wanted to check out the newly changed two-way streets, but I didn't expect to find much more than a lot of scaffolding. I was surprised to find that Napa has become "a destination." The river front is developing beautifully. Charming hotels and good eateries abound. There is a sculpture walk, and you can even take a dance lesson on the way.
There are some funky buildings.
And some classics. The belfry and weather vane of the Presbyterian church were damaged in the earthquake.
Downtown Joe's. Coffee, beer, wine and good eats.
The Bounty Hunter, a wine collector.
Napa Valley Coffee Roasting under scaffolding.
More earthquake damage on a bail bondsman across from the court house.
Decoration on a new parking garage.
Lots of interesting stuff at the river. Those are little flags used as placeholders for plants to come.
And I was amazed to find we have our own 911 memorial. In front of Kohl's no less.
With nice native grasses planted around it.
I really have to get beyond Trader Joe's more often.

You get to see so much that either you would never know to look for - or where to look for it if you tried.
I've never been to Napa or the valley, but you have brought it all ever so much closer to me.
Thank you.

Thank you. I've been to Sonoma County a couple of times but not Napa. This was fun.
