Oh, my goodness, look what I get to do next summer.

http://blog.carljohnsonphoto.com/?p=6648

I'm pretty excited about this. I wasn't going to go because of the cost, but my husband insisted, and now I'm getting pretty stoked about it. Carl is an exceptional photographer, and I know I'm going to learn so much, not to mention get to this brand new part of Alaska that I've never been to before. Even if the auroras don't come out, the scenery will be magnificent.

Here's some MD 'evening light,' NOW, nothing much to compare with what you'll see!

Carl says the only way we won't see at least some auroras that far north is if it's overcast, and with three nights out, we should at least get one or two clear nights. I think it's going to be a blast.

It was overcast all day here, drizzles much of the afternoon, and THEN, around 6, setting sunlight through some clouds showed up, and it continued! We'll all be so excited for you!

I am so glad for you, just wish that it was something that I could do. And three cheers for your husband for insisting. How cool is that!

I have never seen any man so smitten with a woman as he is with you. What a wonderful gift. I'm sure you will make the most of it, and share what you learn with us, too!

I'm really excited. I've been here since 1975, but have never seen the Brooks Range. I know it's going to be gorgeous that time of year.
