I was impressed with my OMD 5 from the first time I held it

but as I use it I keep finding out new things that just blow me away.

It has an electronic 2X extender that's really cool. Sure it converts the 16 meg to 8 megapixel and you can do the same thing with post processing but its still a cool feature.

When using bulb or time exposure the live view shows the accumulated light during the exposure! Updates to the LCD can ce varied from .5 to 60 seconds. Just open the shutter and watch the image build. Great for fireworks or astrological applications.

The video has a "ghost image" feature that shows motion as the subject moves. Imagine a dancer with a slowly fading shadow of her dance steps. For me it would be my grandson's karate moves. I'm not much of a videographer tho--tend to turn the camera vertical for better composition .

Modern photo technology is amazing!

1. That camera was a real breakthrough for Olympus. I have the EMP2. It has the same sensor, but

Yes! Been there all along. The previous owner activated it I suppose.

6. In menu mode scroll to Detailed camera settings

In that menu scroll to Exposure.iso. In that menu scroll to Live time and turn it on and then set update interval. Can set bulb to live as well, but I don't see the advantage (yet).

Exit menu, go back to shooting manual mode. Rotate shutter speed dial to Time and there ya are! Push once to open shutter, again to close it.

I found the SCP. Once turned on in the menu mode when shooting just push OK and it pops up. Scroll to a function and OK to select, then arrow to new selection. This a neat and very fast way to change settings. Thanks for the heads up about it.
