Those things are lethal.

It's coming up on pinecone dropping season at my house, too. The squirrels chew off the branches to get to the cones. Whump! Whack! Thwack! As they fall on my deck. Drives the cats as nuts as it does me. Just one of the joys of country living.

I would hate to get hit by one.

Country living sounds wonderful though.

If you dodge the pinecones, ignore the raccoons and understand that there is no public transportation to anywhere for anything.

I took some pictures almost like the first four yesterday morning here in Colorado where we're visiting. Great minds...

The big pig roast is tomorrow. They're roasting a 112-pound pig, a big brisket, four chickens, bacon-wrapped stuff shrimp, plus whatever goodies the 100 or so guests bring. It's going to be great. . InTheFlow is coming over, too - always a treat.

You can count on that. I'll probably be off in a corner somewhere with the 70-200 taking stealth shots of people, especially after a few hours of revelry.
