It's coming up on pinecone dropping season at my house, too. The squirrels chew off the branches to get to the cones. Whump! Whack! Thwack! As they fall on my deck. Drives the cats as nuts as it does me. Just one of the joys of country living.

(46,436 posts)The big pig roast is tomorrow. They're roasting a 112-pound pig, a big brisket, four chickens, bacon-wrapped stuff shrimp, plus whatever goodies the 100 or so guests bring. It's going to be great. . InTheFlow is coming over, too - always a treat.
