Some headaches I get respond best to plain aspirin.

(20,411 posts)do you have some focus in your post-processing? For example, I seem to remember back in the old days (film) the rule of thumb was to print for the blacks and let whites/grays land wherever.
I find B&W in a digital world quite frustrating.

(60,078 posts)In GIMP I do the fine tuning of levels, resizing, and sharpening. iPhoto has a good basic RAW converter.
Quite often I do a bit of color balance to add a light tone to the image to take the edge off the whites.

(60,078 posts)during my Photoshop years. When OSX 10.6, or was it 10.5 came out, PS was broken, so I went back to GIMP.
There's a learning curve just like other editing software.

I think I learned what I needed to learn from altered states. Those blissed out afternoons in the woods did teach me to continue to see the world as a child.
Keep looking at the underside of the leaf, even though it hurts to get back up. Your inner child appreciates the effort.

(60,078 posts)dying flower in the opening credits of "Six Feet Under" that inspired me to photograph them. At first I tried color, then enhancing the colors to emphasize the decay. Now I find that black and white creates a whole new way to see dying flowers.
