Lake Hennessey panorama
Still pretty low in spite of the rain
This place is on the way to the lake. Getting more dilapidated every year.
But you can still see some of its former glory.

I really like the parched ground.
And photo 2.
Neat structure. What is it? Or..what was it?

(20,886 posts)7. Parched ground is deceptive
It's been raining so "parched" ground was squishy.
The structures are part of an estate or farm or something. Someone still lives in the house behind the railing. The barn and an old winery (I thinkI didn't post a photo of it) are across the road and near to falling down. Nothing, as far as I can see, has ever been done to any of the buildings in the thirty years I've been driving past them. There is no evidence that they are growing or raising anything, or making wine. It's a mystery.

That shot of the gate or portico, very evocative.
