(10,136 posts)Are you using any of those fancy lightning detectors, or are you just holding open the shutter?

(5,113 posts)open the shutter for 30 seconds. if theres a bolt of lighning i turned the camera off to close the shutter immediatly after the bolt

(10,136 posts)although I would just leave the shutter open for the whole exposure time, with or without a lightning flash.
