Need A Lift Ol' Timer?

Last edited Sat Feb 11, 2012, 10:26 PM - Edit history (1)

Shot these two in both B&W and color. Given the subject it just seems more fitting in B&W, but with the new grass coming out underneath the color shot's kinda cool too. Didn't get a chance to talk to the owner, but the color and pinstriping on the International suggest it spent time as a fire truck.

I have to say that I'm really partial to the color shot...

But the b&w is charming too.

That red reminds me of fire engine red, or something like a very ripe tomato.

Beautiful!

Nice to see you!

You're right, the rust just doesn't sell as well in the B&W. Maybe if it was by itself it would be more dominant, but with the big truck it kind of washes out in B&W.

A sea of that green grass surrounding the trucks would really set off the colors. Glad you enjoyed the shots.

I've been meaning to take these shots for months, just never found the time when there was decent light. Made time on Saturday. Glad you liked them.
