Related: About this forumA few shots around the yard
I woke up to this...
Not a great shot but you get the idea.
The sun came out for a little while.
My backyard is next to a protected wood. The wood is protected because of the Red-Cockaded Woodpecker. Very hard to get a picture of....but I'm trying. I walked near the woodline, just out my back gate. Too wet and slippery to stay out for long. Lot of flooding around the area today.
You can sit on my deck and see robins, woodpeckers, owls, turkey vultures, hawks, cardinals, bluejays, vireo...all kinds, really. As well as deer & armadillos, opossums & raccoons, skunks & occassionally a nutria. Fortunately, the feral hogs prefer a deeper woods.
and the first adult anole of the season (at/on my house)

(149,678 posts)I especially like the butterflies with their gorgeous and iridescent wings!
The anole is wonderful too...I love your first pic showing him peek around the corner.
The birds on the ground are nearly invisible unless you look right at them!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful world.

(2,211 posts)What part of the country do you live in? I'm guessing the south somewhere since here in Denver we have a bunch of snow.
