Lucky me, I got to go with a friend to Laguna Beach for a few days. Here are a few pics I took with my point & shoot Nikon Coolpix S9100:
A view of the ocean from the path we walked on each day:
Steps leading from the boardwalk down to the beach:
We saw this setup every day when we walked on the boardwalk. Although it changed a little each day, we never saw anyone there:
There were a couple of these volleyball nets. One day we saw some gals playing; they were really good!

(19,089 posts)I spent a couple of summers hanging out down from Cliff Drive (below the old Victor Hugo restaurant) ... as a matter of fact: your pic shows our little spot, just above the palm tree fronds on the right, on the rocks beyond ... it's cool to see it again ...
Love that place ...
I love that your special place was in one of my shots. Small world!

(3,607 posts)But the downtown area looks completely different from when I was young...it used to be a cute, funky, eclectic little surf downtown -with a head shop and a historic music club called The Golden Bear...all long gone.
But it's still a great place and a friendly town and I visit as often as I can

(14,889 posts)Photos two, three and four are my favorite!
I'm sure you are wondering "what about my first photo?" Rest assured, nice shot! But two, three and four have more substance.
Please keep in mind that this is my humble opinion.
I have submitted photos for publication at work and would "bet" which photo they would choose, only to find out that no they choose a different photo than my "favorite" or (gasp) none at all.
It's all relative.
I have shots that I and I alone LOVE!

(10,751 posts)My favorites are two and four. Especially two, because of the colors. Even the little tiny person over on the right has a blue-green shirt in just the right shade.
I know what you mean about which photos other people like. Sometimes I just love, love, love a shot and other people never even mention it when looking through a set. Go figure.
