to my walk.
Where the Cherry Blossoms were blooming
and the bees were buzzing
and the White Tails were roaming
and the Red-bellied Woodpecker was building
and the Common Grackle was stealing
and the Peacock was roosting
and the Black Swan was grooming
and the Green Heron was profiling
and the Redhead (diving duck) was cruising
and the Raccoon was picnicking (albeit rudely)
where the Beaver was waving
and the turtles were sunning (one's an albino)
and the sky was beautiful
where even the Black Crowned Crane made an appearance
and the Great White Egret reigned supreme.

(15,812 posts)Wow!
What's with the (albino orange?) turtle? Definitely that is something I never see on walks.
Raccoons always startle me when I see them. The beaver is adorable and I have no photos of beavers so I am very jealous of that. As for the cherry blossoms, well, we are only a little behind you here.
Great job with all of these! Thank you for sharing.

(90,787 posts)Around a zoo.
The turtle is a red-eared slider....just like the greener one next to him. Genetic defect. Shouldn't be in the sun but can't help itself. It's part of their nature. Won't live as long as a 'normal' red-eared slider.
Red-eared sliders abound in LA. Albino births are rare, however. The other turtle is a spiny softshell.
Except for 3 of the birds, the rest are animals found in Louisiana. The Grackle and the Woodpecker have moved into the zoo from the 'wild'.
Thanks, Celebration!

(86,802 posts)That was so refreshing... especially since there's a raging snowstorm going on outside my door.

(90,787 posts)Not bragging....just relieved it is Spring here and no snowstorms.
Thank you, 2naSalit!

(86,802 posts)of location and time. I will have over a dozen wild orchids, two kinds of eagles, trumpeter swans and other natural delights in the near future to observe, hopefully with my camera in hand! I need to work on my photobucket acct and put up some cool shots I have collected over the past few years, and my new stuff... but first, I have company coming in a little while and need to get the rest of my preparations done, traveling in a blowing snow scene isn't fun and my friend will be tired.
Lovely photos though, and it's nice to know it's spring somewhere!
