After weeks of single digits, today it's 45 degrees and feels like spring. Crazy Alaska.

I'd like to see if I can get a shot without the background trees. It would simplify the composition.

One is the fact that the main image all but floats in the background of snow and cold sky (which is hindered by the background trees a bit) and the second is that you left enough of it to allow it to appear floating.

Without photoshop this may not be solveable, except for maybe crouching lower

16. I rejected manipulation because getting the shading and grain would be tough. Crouching is doable.

Great b&w. Some of the rare times when an overcast grey sky actually adds to the beauty of a photo. I really like it.
