the cygnus loop


this is the eastern veil nebula (the top one) ,the western veil nebula also called the witches broom and pickerings triangle.
all 3 are actully the remnants of a massive star that went supernova 10-20000 years ago. when it exploded it would have been brighter than the planet venus and visible in daytime. its about 2400 light years away


its a total of a 5 hour exposure (a stack of 4 minute shots) with a 250mm lens and a sony a7iii. I also use a special filter to block light pollution
