The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys

I love this song and I especially appreciate the drumming at the beginning. I joined a drumming group awhile ago, took some lessons and now participate in a drum circle every time I can. I love it. Back to the song, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys by Traffic. What do you think the lyrics mean? I have always just accepted it for the groovy beat but today I am asking myself and you, what do you think is going on here with the lyrics? Enjoy.

TIA.

Traffic was so good. As to lyrics, I sure don't know. Interestingly, I found a DU thread from 2005. Hoyt Nov 2018 #1

general consensus has been is that it's about drug culture And whatever one wants it to be.

It's good to see percussionist Rebop Kwaku Baah again. He died way too young.

Thanks, littlemissmartypants!

He really did, so tragically. But doing what he loved, no doubt. One of my drums is from Ghana. It's actually my favorite. Becoming a drummer has changed my life. Thanks for the reply.

AH! The early 70's when pot wasn't legal, but no one cared..

Strobe & lava lights to enhance the experience..rice curtains purchased from the local head shop, times were great!

Except, of course, for those in Viet Nam.

This was played by us at every party, which never waited for the weekends.

Ah, to miss a misspent youth!

Well, at least MI has legalized recreational pot...so there's that
