1971. The Allman Brothers Band have been playing "One Way Out" in concert from at least Feb, 1971. A live recording was included on their 1972 album Eat a Peach. This was indeed recorded at the Fillmore East, but unlike the March 1971 live material used on the rest of Eat a Peach and At Fillmore East, "One Way Out" was recorded at the venue's final show on June 27, 1971. There is no "One Way Out" footage at the Fillmore East. So I created a video of this legendary performance from different concerts.

at Marietta College, Ohio Homecoming a couple of concerts before Duane died. We went on a lark, a friend had heard about it and luckily we had a car and made the trip; three of us, age 16, 17, and 19. Something I treasure and rememeber well. Attending events and concerts was easy esp. if you were connected to a college.
ETA: saw the band perform in Oct. 1971.

(21,757 posts)I've still never seen anything that compares to the original Allman Bros.
Mind boggling and a total party for over 3 hours.

Three years before in 1969 my sister and friend wanted to see Hendrix in Balto. My dad said no, we were young and the trip was a ways. A great concert to see but I understand his decision, I would do the same. And my sister's older friend was pretty wild, coulda been trouble. Lol.
