In the movie this backdrops a flashback of the young Pink running from person to person among happy reconnections as a train arrives, not meeting the person he is seeking himself -- and as both the aide knocking and shouting "time to go!" and the groupie/mistress asking "You feelin' OK?" as the song winds down, Pink is himself in the middle of a drug overdose as he has this hallucination.
