I hope this is the right place to ask...
At the gym this morning, I heard an amazing version of Feelin' Alright. It had great horn arrangements along with great back up vocals. Very funky and soulful. The lead singer didn't sound like Joe Cocker, but it could have been.
I searched all over Itunes for it and can't find it. I found some great Dave Mason and Joe Cocker versions, but I couldn't find this one. Maybe it's recent. The gym doesn't usually play older music.
Does anyone know where I can find this cut? It's driving me crazy.
Thanks in advance.

(29,223 posts)That's wonderful. I wish I'd been there.
I don't think that's the one I'm looking for. It sounded like a studio recording. But thanks for this. It's so much fun.

(46,081 posts)I'm pretty sure I found some of these. The lead singer was a man, so that eliminates some of the others. I'll check these out as best I can.

(23,297 posts)I remember the Grand Funk version. That's the version I did in a band at age 16. GFR were our heroes. Hometown boys.
So, 2007, I'm in a band that gets flown out to Englewood, NJ for a show. It's in a guy's backyard, his 50th birthday. His house is amazing. He's from Michigan, he knows about our band. His wife walks up to us an hour before showtime and says "Can I ask you guys a favor? Can Dave Mason come up and do a few songs before you go on?" Half hour later I'm talking to a guy who was friends with Jimi Hendrix.

(2,220 posts)Love your story about Dave Mason. My husbands best friend from college is good friends with Pete Frampton. Weve met him a few times at parties. Nice guy.

Of course, there's lots of noise in the gym. Maybe I imagined some of what I think I heard.
