Take Five and we all know that would be, 5/4 count. Something different while taping your foot.

Dave Brubeck Live Take Five. This is why I could not get a date when I was 14 years old not many ppl. listened to jazz when I was a kid. Things did get better many years later though.

123 ~ 12, 123 ~ 12, or 123 ~ 45, 123 -~ 45

I know it's written as 5 beats per bar, but breaking it down and simplifying it translates to my toes from my addled brain more easily.

We used to use it as a break song. Saying something like, "We need to take a pause for the cause."

Probably due to the sense that they're dragging their feet on the ass-end of the four, making the five feel like a pickup note every time.

That's how I hear it, anyway.

It seems like written out turns. The tune does come from Milcho Leviev though, and I think the arrangement.
