I know it's written as 5 beats per bar, but breaking it down and simplifying it translates to my toes from my addled brain more easily.
We used to use it as a break song. Saying something like, "We need to take a pause for the cause."

(47,558 posts)Probably due to the sense that they're dragging their feet on the ass-end of the four, making the five feel like a pickup note every time.
That's how I hear it, anyway.
