Brandy by Looking Glass. Every time I hear it, I can feel my blood pressure drop. The song just makes me happy, no matter how many times I hear it. The 45 mix is a sped up a little and the bongos are more prominent on the bridge.

(4,723 posts)Tho the song is older than the time, it reminds me of summers during my college years in the 90s, when the radio was tuned to the classic rock station. I worked on a crew that painted residence hall rooms. Not hard work, and everyone had a pretty good time.

(4,723 posts)I have to have a couple of drinks to even consider doing karaoke. When I do, my go-to song is "Down to My Last Cigarette" in the style of k.d. lang.

(4,723 posts)I am still partial to Jackie Wilson's version, but there is just something about this more laid back version that is so attractive. I think Rita Coolidge's voice is so well suited for this song.

(2,850 posts)And this album came in. I took it home to review and picked Brandy as a potential hit. Have always loved the song. Danny Okeefe and his LP Breezy Stories was full of great music.
Thanks for the memories...
