Eight Miles High...but not with the Byrds tonight...

...Leo Kottke instead.

As I was walking the dogs around the field tonight I serenaded them with Leo's Cradle to the Grave ...a frequent lament:

I don't think I've ever felt so helpless
Always feeling like my hands are tied
Ruining most everything I've dealt with
Failing at most everything I've tried.


But my video reviews led me to Leo's cover of Pamela Brown, then to his fantastic cover of 8MH, on a 6-string this time:



...but then I had to go back to the 12-string bottleneck cover of Pamela Brown again...to see what a great guitarist could do to a corny Tom T. Hall country song...

I don't have to tell you just how beautiful she was
Everything it takes to get a guy like me in love
Lord, I hope she's happy, 'cuz she sure deserves to be,
'Specially for what she did for me.
