Given this song is a cover of a straight-up Mississippi Delta Hymnal ... just sayin'

With hubby Kansas City Joe on vocals and 2nd guitar ...

Perhaps I should have included the history of the song. I was just enjoying his unadulterated joy in the moment. I do wish more of these people would research a bit more before they 'react' to a new song. I was thinking most here know the origins, and so in this instance I'd skip rehashing controversy about appropriation vs. artistic interpretation involving Led Zeppelin.

There are others on YouTube, with Levee reactions, who do appreciate where the song came from and talk about it. This was a fairly new upload on YouTube and I was caught up in his joy, and so posted it rather spontaneously

BTW, I'm kind of new to the group, and maybe its been debated in here already, but I am of the opinion that LZ did not copy, did not cover, rather they re-imaginined those early blues songs, into their own language, their own artistic works. Artists of all disciplines borrow and steal from past generations and cultures. In fact, English bands that came up through the sixties like the Beatles, Stones, etc..respected early American blues more than most Americans, and were instrumental in reviving their songs and importance in music history.

That particular song is pretty much a cover, though a lot of the Zeppelin so-called 'ripoffs', I'd say ... are NOT covers. Whole Lotta Love is NOT a cover, for example. They've been a bit unfairly maligned for their borrowing, IMHO.

See you around LLL
