Ed Sheeran vs Marvin Gaye's family

Apparently Ed was hit with a plagiarism suit from Marvin Gaye's family over his song "Thinking Out Loud", and lost....now I hear similar chords between these songs, but much different tempo, composition, lyrics, etc.....thoughts?

after the blurred lines controversy with PHarrell and thicke and gotta give it up ( I didn't quite get it since the drum patterns were different) , if it was good enough for them , I guess Sheeran is not too far behind. Maybe there's some similarity in the guitar but .... all I have a meh really.

And I agree, the "Blurred Lines" were definitely blurred....
