One of my favorite of all time genres of music 
ETA: I was a young hippie girl in a small town (hippies were heavily looked down on) when this song came out. I had my first adult job working as a waitress in a truck stop.
Surprisingly I got good tips but looking back it was probably all the tourists since the diner was on the main highway plus it was a ski town. I would plug the juke box with all my quarters playing R&B 45s over and over while the other waitresses played Elvis and Johnny Cash.
I always think of this when the Chi Lites, the Spinners, Al Green, and other greats turn up here on DU
