I got to see her decades after this at the NO Jazz Fest as part of a Mamma Thornton tribute girls band. Her voice was still the same and she still had that ecelctic charm. It's great when you get to see/hear your heros and heroines in unexpected placea.

You've related two surprise appearances this week. I really debated this one, but it was the beauty of her voice that won me over

There was only 3 big musical surprises in my life and you got 2 of them - what are the chances of that!

The other one was when I ran into Larry Raspberry and the High Steppers playing at a small park in Nashville when we were out for a walk with some friends who lived near there. WOW!!!!!

Not much of a chance of me getting all three, for one, it's Women's History Month, so I'm only posting women this month, and for two, I have no idea who that is

I guess I'd call them an East Coast version of the Tubes without the costumes, just the insane craziness and good musical talent.

Song just slinky & her delivery is superb.
That's Amos Garrett on the guitar solo. Played with a lot of very good, but not superstar, level artists.
He's still alive. In his early 80s, I'd guess.
