(65,279 posts)4. Well, That Explains It
I loved him in Missing Persons, though most of that was synths.

(12,171 posts)5. Yes, O'Hearn went on to a career as a solo artist
doing ambient, New Agey stuff with lots of synth pads not really my cup of tea for the most part, but hes certainly a very talented musician.

Is this off of Baby Snakes? The shout out to Potato-Headed Bobby was the cherry on top!

The original recording (which has a significantly slower tempo) features Johnny Guitar Watson on the vocal, as well as Captain Beefheart on harmonica. Here, after giving us an eccentrically virtuosic guitar solo, Belew then proceeds to carry the whole band on his bony shoulders. He mimics the sound and feel of Watsons vocal on the record nicely, a big part of what makes this such a smoking song and performance. In this video, hes working himself into some kind of frenzied trance, which is simultaneously hilarious, inspiring, and funky as all getout. Not talkin bout, not talkin bout, uh-uh Great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it! And I hope you dont have a head like a potato, but if you do, well, thats a few extra eyes.
