It's a good thing you posted this, as I'm just starting a Powell-Pressburger kick.

(6,996 posts)2. You can't go wrong with Powell-Pressburger.
Some of their films are simply masterpieces. One of the best (and my fave) is The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp (1943).
As an anti-war film in 1943 it was daring for it's time. And as far as epic film making goes it is superb.
