The Manchurian Candidate (1962)

Marta and I are watching the new Criterion Collection Blu-Ray. We have Met Tom Lowell a couple times. He played Private Bobby Lembeck. Raymond Shaw (Laurence Harvey) is told to kill Lembeck early in the film.

We got Tom's autograph in Oct of 2000 on our old laser disk cover. Tom's IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0523121/?ref_=ttfc_fc_cl_t55

In 2004 Marta and I walked through the shooting location of the early part of the film. Franklin Canyon doubled for the location in Korea.

We agree with the review below. Highly recommended!

And yes, Angela Lansbury was a chilling, evil villain.

Thankfully, here in the boonies where neither cable TV nor broadband INet fear to tread, there is still NetFlix DVD. And even here in the Manistee National Forest they turn around on the third day.

I just wish NetFlix had the catalog that they used to have, before they went to streaming.
