And the pic of Cyd Charisse and Gene Kelley brings back one of the astounding set pieces in the film (which is certainly only a collection of such things).
Yet it works. Just like another film on the docket today, North by Northwest.
Neither film has a coherent plot. Yet both work in spite of the fact. The MacGuffin in Hitchcock's work is the totally irrelevant figurine with a belly full of microfilm. I suspect that the MacGuffin in Singing in the Rain might be a bit more obscure.
Both are highly recommended, nearly plotless entertainment. In other words, pure cinema at its best.
