Later adopted in a Star Trek script, Balance of Terror during star Trek's first season.

It is the first appearance of Romulans, and introduced Trekkies to one of the prolific actors in the Star Trek universe, Mark Lenard, who played the Romulan commander here, but whose iconic Trek role would be Sarik, Spock's father. BTW, he played the Klingon commander in the first Star Trek film.

But "Balance of Terror" was purely derivative of "The Enemy Below". And both are worthwhile viewings.
