To Have and Have Not -- Bogey and Bacall at their best. Walter Brennen is great in a great character role, chewing the scenery like the best of them. Plus, it has the very famous Bacall line, "You know how to whistle, Rick..." Worth it for that scene alone.

Postman Always Rings Twice -- not much to say about this beyond a hearty recommendation.

Lady in the Lake -- filmed from Marlowe's perspective. The only time you see him is in mirrors, etc. Has the always high value Audrey Totter. Pretty interesting film, but I haven't seen it in years.

The Third Man -- Wow! What a great film. Look for James Bond's "M" as Trevor Howard's sergeant, who loves Cotton's cheap novels. The cast is all around incredible and the filming is right on target. Some love and some hate the musical score. Welles, as usual, delivers. One of the greats.

It's been a while since I have seen the flick. It is one that sticks to the ribs. It's a great ensemble cast, too.

Thanks for the memory.

Regretfully, there is no cable or broadband Internet here. So I won't be able to view this showing.
