1. Quite the literary line-up this evening.

Of the evening schedule, the only film I haven't seen in its entirety is the adaptation of Great Expectations by the legendary David Lean.



The 1940 Pride and Prejudice may ruffle a few feathers (Where are the empire gowns? Where's Colin Firth?!) for its use of a stage adaptation of the novel and its recycling of mid-19th century costumes from other productions, but it's also watchable, partly due to the presence of some great character actors of Hollywood's golden age.



And it's a shame that A Room with a View is on so late, though perhaps it's due to That Scene. You who know the movie and/or the novel know just what I'm talking about...
