Bob Weir Helped Off Stage During Furthur Show

Last evening at Furthur’s Capitol Theatre show, Bob Weir fell down during the performance and was assisted off stage. The incident took place late in the second set as the band played “Unbroken Chain.” Crew members helped Weir move over to the wings and Furthur continued the song. Weir had been experiencing issues throughout the night and during “Unbroken Chain” a chair had been provided for him. Then after a brief break the show resumed, with Lesh indicating that Weir had injured his shoulder in a workout. It is believed that the guitarist took a muscle relaxant which ultimately inhibited his performance. Following his departure the group closed out the run with a pass from “Stella Blue” into “China Cat Sunflower” and then “I Know You Rider” before a “Built To Last” encore.

Hey now fellow Deadheads out there. There is a video at the above link. It does not look good. I hope that Bob Weir is ok and if there is something wrong with him that he gets well soon.

Very sad thing to watch indeed (occurred on night before last)!

Received an email from a fellow Deadhead and it said that he is in a recovery home and that they were wishing him well.

I never knew that Bobby was on a lot of drugs these days.

Sad really and yes, it was very sad to watch.

Apparently he was taken from the show via ambulance to the hospital.

Get Well Soon Bob Weir!!!

5. Furthur Cancel BottleRock Festival Gig After Bob Weir's Stage Fall

May 2013

Furthur have canceled their headline appearance at the inaugural BottleRock Napa Valley on May 9th, news that comes less than a week after singer and guitarist Bob Weir fell down mid-song onstage while the Grateful Dead offshoot performed April 25th at the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, New York.

With his crew quickly assisting him into a chair, Weir was able to finish the song but then exited the stage with his bandmates. After a short pause, the band returned without Weir. Bassist Phil Lesh told the crowd that Weir had suffered from a strained shoulder earlier in the day and would not be able to finish the concert with them. The band played on, eliciting a mixed response from fans.

Got to admit, he looks pretty wrecked in this picture taken the day he fell.
