A Myriad of Sculptures

Happy Friday everyone! I've been a bit busy in my newly lit studio and have literally had dreams about art. Here's a pic of sculptures I have made. All are gone save the Satyr. He's still with me. He's called 'Waiting for Chloe'....someday I'll make his wood nymph Chloe.

How, oh how, did you create these extraordinarily stunning sculptures. I'd love to know the process, because MLAA Feb 16 #5

I can teach you how if you like. Usually first I make the head, with a wire firmly embedded in tin foil shaped as a head, then I sculpt the head. Then I make a wire armature for the body. I either embed the armature in a base, or make it free form, then attach it to the base. Usually I embed it in the base, unless it's a flying piece like a dragon. I work in layers with Aves Apoxie Sculpt, a two part non toxic epoxy with a one to three hour set up time, or cure time. I shape and sculpt the face and head, attach it to the body once cured fully.

It takes time and patience and learning and knowing how to work the material. Here's the website for Aves: [link:http://avesstudio.com|

I believe my Beginner's Guide is on there.

I've taught a class online internationally about 14 or so years ago, to over 500 students, and in person at conventions and personal and group classes.

Thanks again and happy arting!

No, I don't have a website or Etsy. I just sell to collectors at this point. I still have the satyr. I love him so. I have lots of art laying around I should post for sale though. We could have auctions to benefit DU!
