STATEMENT OF THE PRESS OFFICE OF THE KKE ON THE ESCALATION OF THE VIOLENCE IN UKRAINE

The escalation of the violence and the repression carried out by the government of Kiev, which is the product of a coup d’etat, against the people in Easter Ukraine highlights the enormous responsibilities of the USA, NATO and the EU. They support the nationalist government of Ukraine and other fascist forces in the framework of their competition with Russia.
The choice to sharpen the situation by sending military forces, by imposing sanctions and new plans for the outlawing of the activity of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the Party of the Regions is adding fuel to the fire and increasing the dangers of a more generalized war, with countless victims and destruction.
The Greek people must condemn the imperialist intervention of the USA-NATO-EU in Ukraine and every attempt to restrict the rights of the Ukrainian people and to ban the activity of the communists.z
