Anyone here ever tried kratom?

A friend suffers from pain. He was on some different drugs and was required
to remain alcohol free--but had some beers and was kicked off his meds
because of that. He now has not only pain but withdrawl too.
I thought about kratom and have done some preliminary
research but would like to hear what people say. It's supposed to have
pain killing and stimulating effects.

1. I tried it recently.

Fellow DUer Purveyor dm'ed a link to a reliable source. I wanted to try it for migraines and sleep problems.

I didn't find it to be stimulating.

It didn't help me sleep.

It didn't help with migraines and I actually had a very pronounced increase in migraines about 4-5 days after starting kratom. The literature I read said this might happen.

But before I had to stop taking it due to the increase in number of migraines, it really helped with fibromyalgia pain. I was very bummed out that I couldn't keep taking it. It was really nice not to have fibromyalgia pain for a few days!

2. My wife tried it

for fibromyalgia. It didn't work for her. Try it and see if it helps, though. You never know. She smokes marijusna and it really helps.

3. Another vote for daily medicinal cannabis intake

It helps me sleep so well and does wonders for pain and inflammation (Lupus).
