Apparently because at an intersection with big, bold letters saying "Keep Clear" I did not pull up until the light further up changed and I could proceed without hanging out into the middle of the no-light, no stopsign intersection. Cause, ya know, the guy driving the big ass white truck mighta gotten to his stop five seconds earlier. 🙄

(8,445 posts)I took Driver's Ed in high school when it was offered, even though I already had a license. I learned a lot. I'm amazed at how easily people get (and keep) driver's licenses these days. Everyone seems to want to "win" instead of getting from point A to point B safely.

(52,386 posts)Two groups of drivers going from one side of a city to the other.
One group was told to obey every single traffic law to the letter and to take all normal safety precautions.
The other group was told to ignore all that and just get to the destination without causing an accident (the sponsors of the study would pay for any tickets)
The first group took about an hour, and the second group beat them by about 2 or 3 minutes while committing more than 100 safety mistakes and/or ticketable violations.
I can't tell you how many times I've had someone pass me dangerously and illegally only to have me catch up to them at the next light. It really pisses then off.
It's idiotic, really. Soooo not worth it.

(16,334 posts)I just let em. Then THEY can get honked at when the light changes and cars inch up to them all annoyed. I've never seen a cop around when this happens.

(7,697 posts)there was a cop hidden as some idiot passed me (2-way road, middle lane for left hand turns) in the turn lane. The cop stopped him. Delicious!
We take little joys where we can find them.

(36,360 posts)Finally, I lost my temper, rolled down the window and flipped the bird at the person honking behind me. I got to the next parking lot but this time I walked behind the vehicle and noticed written in soap on the rear of the car "Just Married!" My eldest step-son had just gotten married the day before and had borrowed the car for the day.
I imagine the person(s) I flipped off thought my marriage had issues and wouldn't last.
I felt rather foolish for my actions but the wife spent much of the remainder of the day laughing.
