My luck is never this bad...

So. We've got Hurricane Irma, a cat 3 hurricane with another system right behind it. Heading this way.
I'm going on a cruise to the Bahamas on the 15th. I have a feeling Crazy Cruise IV is going to be a wet, rocky mess.
IF we can even go.
I know this sounds insensitive with what the Houstonians are going through, but I planned this trip 6 months ago and really wanted to get away.

mock this as a first world concern.

But you made plans 6 months ago. No way of knowing if you'd have a hurricane to contend with.

Would it make sense at this point to try to refund that cruise and do some other vacation?

My cabin is free, but I have a window in which to take the trip. This was the only convenient time for me to go.
I'm sitting here watching The Weather Channel and Dr. Doomengloom says there's a good chance it'll hit South Florida. I live in Fort Lauderdale. He says it could be here by mid-week.

This just a weekender trip; Friday afternoon to Monday morning, and the first stop is at their private beach island and you have to be tendered in (no dock, too shallow). If it's too rough we wont be able to enjoy the beautiful beaches of the Bahamas.
I'm bringing a buddy who has never been on a cruise and I really hoped it would be stress free weather-wise. Rough seas on a cruise ship is often gastronomically challenging.
