Not the Bride. The Maids.
Isn't wearing an ugly dress enough?
Is this a new (hopefully temporary) trend?

(46,202 posts)100 years ago, your family got together at a house, a 3 minute ceremony incurred, and you ate cake and went back to work. And it didn't cost $50,000 and there weren't tests of loyalty among family and friends.

(27,172 posts)They take up the entire day, drag on and on, are boring as hell for anyone who is not actively in the wedding party (and some who are).
The worst one for me was one where everyone was given a frozen butterfly in an envelope. The butterfly was supposed to thaw out and come to life, and everyone was supposed to release them at one point in the festivities.
What actually happened is that many butterflies were crushed, never recovered, or were clobbered/stepped-on/etc. after they were released. Lots of crying by little kids.

In contract, Brad & Jennifer got married the same day, with a wedding that cost a cool million. They got just over five years for their investment.
Hmm...
