Of course, it looks like it targeted a boy demographic. I loved Johnny Quest, however; had a crush on Hadji.

I always remember this one because when I learned that Tobor was Robot spelled backwards my mind was blown (hey, when you're a kid things like that are really cool)

is showing a live action type of this called Johnny Sokko and the (his ?) Giant Robot, I may have gotten the title wrong but it's close. When I first came across this I saw on the screen an 8 year old boy at a table apparently drinking beer with his adult co-workers, later he was shooting at the bad guys and controlling this giant robot.

Goofy as hell show.

I love these Japanese shows because of the miniature models being so well done.
