I've been to a few awesome concerts in the past couple of years ....
And make these guys pose with me
Just at the small venue ....
Couldn't get near Ian Anderson, Dylan or Bob Seger...
Or Johnny...just this close..

As a musician ...you'll understand and know the lesson I learned from my son..
He asked be about the show...
I told him how saddened I was watching Johnny escorted to the stage by two roadies ...
One on each side, as they helped him onto his chair....
He could barely walk...

And then...the music was as it should have been...as he is.
When the show was over, they helped him out of his chair and walk off the stage.

When I mentioned my sadness, my son the musician ....gave me a lesson in life.

"Why do you always think and feel that way? Can't you see how amazing and inspirational
he is?"

He went on to tell me how awesome it was that no matter what Johnny's physical being...
Johnny was doing what he loved ... playing for the people who love his music ...
He told me that Johnny would not want pity. He was still doing the same thing...
Just a tad differently....

Jonas found it amazing ....

Is it not wondrous what we learn from our children?
I'm happy to share that aspect with you....

My son changed my mindset...Of course he loves the music, yet didn't grow up with him.
I did.....

Live and learn ...
He taught me to view in a different light....

Jonas was right.
I think you would agree...
Thank you for asking....

peace~

I know ...being years ago you may not recall what year....
And think we were in the same space in time?

I also saw him ... only recall the year as I was pregnant, we hitch-hiked to a field...somewhere.
It was 1971...August.
I've tried searching and can't find where we were...
August 22 ....I bought my husband a hit of acid for his birthday...
That's all I recall....

Every guy in the band, including Edgar, was well over 6'2". I was stoned on pot that night....and a little drunk. That would be funny if we were there at the same time.
I remember when the Birds gave a free concert in some park in Roxbury.
