But evidently the sheet music reached the UK before any recordings of it, so at first, having nothing to go by, the British performers sang it as: "When I'm calling you..double O, double O..."

I hope it's true!

was a smashing success. At the beginning, the audience was skeptical, but by the middle, became enthusiastic.

...Berigan was a terrific singer, and a great trumpet player. Probably the best jazz trumpeter of the Swing Era, except for Armstrong--duh!--and Roy Eldridge...

I grew up listening to my mother's old 78s. I knew all the words to every song that had words and every instrument's part of the whole piece.
